John the Griot

A Little Longer

I hope the sun finds you tomorrow.
And if it rains,I hope you stay a little longerto hear it against the glass.
I hope the bread is warm, the journey home is kind, and something you thought you’d lostfinds its way back in time.
I hope you grow old enoughto laugh at all your fears,to find that what once broke your heartcould hardly move you years from here.
And when the world grows tired,as all good things must do,I hope you find a thousand reasonsto be glad it happened to you.
